Sacramento Trip to meet State Lawmakers Print
Written by Leslie Roach

Juniors and Seniors: Each year the PTSA sponsors 4 students on a trip to Sacramento. The purpose of the trip is to meet with state lawmakers and staff to express public education concerns and ideas, hear from a variety of experts on state education policy and network with IUSD students, administrators, and school board members. Students attending the trip will go through several information gathering meetings and will be expected to research on their own. This is an exciting opportunity! If you are interested, please fill out the application (including teacher recommendation) attached and return it to Mrs. Roach by January 9th. Applications are also available in the front office.

What is Canvas?

Parents and students now have access to Canvas, IUSD’s new learning management system. Canvas is a leading edge, online tool that provides a universal approach to engaging students by providing materials, calendars, assignments, communication, quizzes and collaboration for every class in one place.  Access to Canvas as a parent, will allow you to observe the activities students are doing within Canvas. This is the District’s first year using Canvas, so the extent of use in each class will be different. As the 2014-2015 academic year continues, you will see activity within Canvas increase.

Please see attachment below on how to access Canvas.
