AP Information - Dates and Fees
| Feb. 2 –Feb. 26 |
AP Exam Registration ($90.00 per exam). Cash or Check at SAC
or Credit Card online (Webstore). Student ID required. |
Tuesday, Feb. 9
and Wed., Feb. 10 |
Teachers are scheduled to take the following classes to the SAC to pay for exams:
AP Stats, Calculus, APES, AP Physics, AP Bio, AP Chem, AP CS |
Thursday, Feb. 11
and Friday, Feb. 12 |
Teachers are scheduled to take the following classes to the SAC to pay for exams:
AP French, AP Spanish, AP Gov, AP Euro, APUSH, AP English, AP Art History,
AP Studio Art, and AP Music |
| Feb. 27- April 14 |
Late Fee of $50.00 per exam is charged in addition to the $90.00 per exam
to register to take an AP exam. |
| April 30 |
Last day to cancel an AP exam in order to receive a $70.00 refund per exam.
($20.00 cancellation fee). |
| May 3 – May 12 |

Second Semester Reading Bookfair |

The NHS PTSA and Barnes & Noble at the Market Place will be partnering again this year in a Second Semester Reading Bookfair, Monday, February 1st through Sunday, February 14th. Purchase any books needed for the balance of the school year along with anything else you may need and a percent of the sale will contribute to the NHS PTSA.
Print this email to provide the cashier with the Bookfair #10130474 or just mention Northwood High School at the time of purchase, and you'll be helping the school.
Remember, every purchase you and your student make at Barnes and Noble during this period of time, including the cafe!, will help the school. Those drinks bought in the cafe after school and on weekends will help our bottom line! See you there!

2010/2011 NHS Planner Cover Art Contest - “For the Good of the Pack” theme
We are currently holding the 2nd annual NHS Planner Cover Art Contest for the 2010/2011 Planner Cover. Work may be from any 2-D medium (photo, painting, sketch, collage…) and must adhere to the theme of “For the Good of the Pack.” Dimensions must be a minimum 5”X8”, must be school appropriate, and must include name and student ID number. Timberwolf 5K Run/Walk – Register before 2/15 for best price
The Inaugural Timberwolf 5K Run/Walk, set for Saturday, February 20th, is an NHS Athletic Boosters event designed to enhance community spirit while supporting athletic programs. We invite you to “Run with the Pack” as you have fun with friends, colleagues, neighbors and family. Both a 5K and 1K “Fun Run” will be part of the festivities. Register before February 15th for the best price.
A portion of the proceeds from this fundraiser will go to Families Forward.

Northwood High Performing Arts Department
is proud to announce
COMING FEBRUARY 24 – FEBRUARY 27, 2010
Combining the much-loved characters of the classic Disney cartoon Pinocchio (along with its familiar song hits “When You Wish Upon A Star” and “Got No Strings”) with the popular Drew Carey television film Geppetto, this new take pulled a few fresh strings for the most famous puppet in the world. With careful guidance by the film’s composer, Stephen Schwartz, Disney’s Geppetto & Son paired the modern sensibility of Schwartz’s Wicked with the traditional storybook tale for a fun and fresh result.
The adventurous and heartwarming musical features unforgettable music and lyrics by Academy, Grammy and Tony Award-winning Schwartz, best known for his songs for the stage including Wicked, Godspell, and Pippin as well as his lyrics in the popular Disney films Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Prince of Egypt. Joining Schwartz on the creative team is David Stern, whose Broadway credits include Miss Saigon, Nick & Nora and Big.
This family-friendly musical is appropriate for all audiences and is a magical mix of heartwarming fairytale and action-packed adventure. Audiences will love following Pinocchio's journey from an awkward wooden puppet to a real, live boy and will be charmed by Geppetto's transformation from demanding creator to a real, live father.
